On June 11th 2013, the City Commission approved an agreement between the City of Dania Beach and the County for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) project known as the 38th Year - Solar Street Lighting Project. The 38th Year CDBG Agreement has been approved by the Broward County in the amount of $145,679.00 for this project. The CDBG funding will be used for the purchase and installation of a minimum of fifteen (15) solar powered street lighting poles with fixtures for streets that are in need of additional safety lighting. All lighting poles with fixtures shall be located within the City’s Census Tract 805 Block Group 2 right-of-way or on City owned property. Census Tract 805 is the area generally located south of Dania Cut off Canal, north of NW 1st Street, east of SW 3rd Avenue and west of NW 14th Avenue. |

To move forward with this project, the City Commission needs to Authorize the Public Services Department to seek public bids for the project. |
